Meet the ESC School Board Candidates!

In addition to the PPEL Levy measure, there are two seats on the ESC school board that are up for election this term.

There are four candidates running for election on the ballot. Voters will need to elect two candidates to the school board for a four year term.

Please remember to vote in the election for our school board and on the voted PPEL measure.

👀Did you know that the average overall school levy tax rate in the State of Iowa is currently $13.21 per $1,000 valuation. The current ESC overall school levy rate is $11.64 per $1,000 valuation. If the proposed PPEL levy increase passes and the 34 cents was added to our current rate, East Sac County residents would have a school levy tax rate that is more than $1.20 below the state average. 👀

For the 4th consecutive year, the East Sac County Football team has qualified for the playoffs! East Sac will travel to West Lyon on Friday night! GO RAIDERS!!!

Today we recognize and show our appreciation for Mr. Hemiller and his work as the East Sac County Superintendent. October 13th - 17th is National School Lunch Week! We would like to take this moment to thank the wonderful ESC Food Service Team for all of their work and the kindness they show our students throughout the year!

East Sac County 2nd graders had their second visit from Dakota, the Hagge Park Naturalist. Over the last few weeks our students watched their caterpillars grow, form chrysalis', and eventually become butterflies. Dakota came back to help us tag them and release them into the wild so that they can start their journey south. The students loved this experience and were a little sad to see them go!

A Night of Friendship: ESC Vocal Concert🎶 Last night, our high school choir sang with full emotion and full volume in their fall vocal concert, “A Night of Friendship.” The evening featured a thoughtfully chosen set of songs that celebrated connection, trust, and resilience. From the "Die with a Smile” to the heartfelt harmonies in “Count on Me,” our talented students brought each piece to life with passion and precision. The haunting tones of “The Hanging Tree” were performed with stunning vocal control, while “Friend Like Me” added a burst of fun and flair to the stage. The night closed with a powerful rendition of “No One is Alone"! We’re so proud of our performers for their hard work and dedication. Great job by all involved!💛🎤👏

Paint and carpet can go a long way in transforming spaces! However, paint and carpet require capital project funds. Funding for paint and carpet comes from our PPEL Levy. The district will continue to update our spaces as funds are available. Here is an example of what is possible. Please remember to vote on Nov. 4th. Last week, East Sac County FCCLA had 19 members attend fall rally and 10 members compete in various challenges. The fall rally began with a welcome by our very own FCCLA Statr Officer, Denae Thayer. There were many workshops for the members to attend throughout the day. Congratulations to our competitors Keylee Dixon, Makylee Cromwell, Emily Slater, Avaloyn Dontje, Brooklyn Martin, Makenzie Friedmann, Haley Jo King, Brooke Burns, Max Manternach and Shelby Renze! Keylee and Makylee placed 2nd in the$15 Meal Challenge poster and Shelby placed 3rd in the Dip Challenge!

The kindergartners had an exciting day last Thursday. In the morning, Firefighter Chris came into each K room to show the students his full firefighting gear. He talked to them about how the gear protects firefighters from getting hurt and what his job is like. He even put on his oxygen mask and tank so the kids could hear his breathing. Then in the afternoon the kindergartners got to ride on top of the fire trucks around town! It was a great day to be a kindergartner!

Wow!! The amount of RAIDER School Spirit on Friday was AMAZING! From High Five Friday, to the PK-6 Pep Rally, Senior Readers, Parade, Pep Rally in Wall Lake, and to end the night with a packed house and a Raider victory, it was a busy and successful day! Her are a few pictures from Friday!!!
