The 3rd graders recently traveled to Sioux City to enjoy some real world learning!
First, students went to the Sioux City Public Museum where they were able to participate in a scavenger hunt, learn about some of Iowa's history, and participate in a dinosaur fossil dig.
They then traveled to KTIV where they received a tour of the studio. Students were able to talk to the meteorologist and ask him questions about weather. They were then given the opportunity to go on the green screen! This was very exciting for them as they are currently working on a research project about different weather phenomenons. The 3rd graders were even able to countdown the newscast to go, "ON AIR," for the noon news! Lastly, they watched the producers work very hard behind the scenes.
Overall it was a GREAT experience for the students!

New Opportunities in Sac City visited us this morning for High Five Friday. Students enjoyed seeing many familiar faces! We appreciate you spending your morning with us and all the services you provide for students and families in our district!
