East Sac County is working really hard to increase individual student and district success while showcasing the good things happening here at ESC.
Today we would like to recognize this team of professionals. These individuals are our East Sac County TEACHERS. They go to work everyday to help our students learn and find individual success.
THANK YOU for your work and collaboration at Parent Teacher Conferences!!!

We heard inspiring speeches from former Army Sergeant and current Loring Hospital CEO Matt Johnson, and Roy Miller, current Mayor of Moravia and a Vietnam Veteran. Quilts of Valor were also presented to Jay Stoltenberg, Lane Snyder, and Chad Brotherson in recognition of their service.
Our school choir and band did an outstanding job, with the choir singing National Anthem, and the Band performing each branch’s song as students carried in the flags. From the flag-folding ceremony to the playing of Taps, every part of the event showed true gratitude for our veterans.
Thank you to all who helped make this afternoon special and most of all, thank you to every U.S. veteran for your service and sacrifice!!!❤️🤍💙

We will be extending our hours tomorrow, FRIDAY, until 1:00!!

Our East Sac County freshman in Physical Science classes put their engineering and problem-solving skills to the test this week with an Egg Drop Challenge! Students designed and built egg drop holders sturdy enough to protect their eggs through multiple rounds of drops.
🥚🚀
On Monday, to really put their designs to the test, students took a trip up to the bleachers at the practice football field to drop their creations from some serious height! After several tests, and a few cracked casualties along the way, a few designs stood strong through every round.
Those students and their creations are featured in the photos below. Great job to everyone who participated, science in action is always exciting to see! 👏🔬💡

Last week, Sandy Zimmerman and Caroyln Noess presented the kids with their own personal reading bear that they can use in school and then at the end of the year can take home to continue with their reading journey. This year Sandy made all 60 bears herself and then had the ladies from the St. Paul's Quilters help her to stuff the bears. St. Paul’s Quilters started this tradition three years ago after hearing from others in Eagle Grove where a lady made reading bears for first graders which improved their reading scores. They decided to start this program at East Sac.
This gift was inspired by this project:

Thank you to St. Pauls' Quilters for providing this awesome opportunity and personal gift to our ESC first graders!!!

The exact impact on your taxes depends on your specific circumstances. However, examples using standard rollbacks and deductions are shown below ⬇️
Residential - 200K assessed value - $30.60 increase per year, 8 cents/day 👀

Each year as the district prepares the next fiscal year's budget, the board will approve the rates for the VPPEL, Management Fund, Cash Reserve Levy, and Instructional Support Levy. It is possible for this measure to pass and not see an automatic tax increase of 34 cents in next year's budget on the overall tax rate.
The current overall tax rate for ESC is $11.64. The state average for Iowa School districts is $13.21. The proposed additional $0.34 cents would help maintain our current facilities and still keep the ESC tax rate well under the state average.
