Today the Senior class along with Mr. Bochmann, Ms. Waters, and Mr. Hemiller took a trip to the Iowa State Capitol Building in Des Moines. Seniors had the opportunity to tour the building, learn about the state's rich history, and the story behind the building itself. They had the chance to step into the historic library, see the Assembly floor, as well as a tour of the iconic golden dome. This was a great experience for our seniors!

On Thursday, 8th grade students were able to visit Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge for their Career Day. Students filled out a questionnaire before going and attended breakout sessions that matched their interests. Many of the sessions had hands-on activities that students really enjoyed. In addition to hearing from different departments, students were also able to tour the campus to see all that is available at Iowa Central. It was a great opportunity for our 8th graders!

East Sac County students in grades 3 - 11 will be completing the State of Iowa academic testing this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday! Last year our kids performed very well on these tests and we have worked hard as a school district to keep our school trending that direction! Please have a quick conversation with your kids and discuss the importance of trying their best! Here are a few reminders:
- Each buildings principal has sent home communication about the ISASP testing via email.
- The school will be offering FREE BREAKFAST this week for all students.
- Most tests will be given on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8:30 - 10: 10 AM. The Jr./Sr. High will run a 2 hour late schedule on those days.
- Get some sleep the nights before testing! Eat Breakfast the morning of testing! Charge your computer each night!
Let's show the state what how well East Sac County students can perform on the ISASP's!!!

Sam Julin signed his letter of intent to play basketball at Buena Vista University. Thanks for the memories at ESC and GOOD LUCK at BVU!!!

It was Volunteer Day for ESC Jr/Sr High School. Giving back by volunteering and helping out in our community is important and can be very rewarding. Our school student council planned the event and had our advisors figure out which locations they wanted to go to for the afternoon. Today our students went around to some different areas around our East Sac Communities and helped in a variety of ways! Some advisors did clean up work at our local parks, around houses and businesses, around the lake, and in the ditches of highway 175. While other groups helped out by washing emergency vehicles in town, and one advisor group baked cookies to take down the police station. Many different volunteer ideas came out of our different groups, and it was a wonderful way to spend our afternoon helping out and giving back to the community!!

ESC Families –
In accordance with Iowa State Law and ESC Board Policy 103, Every five (5) years the board shall conduct an in-depth needs assessment, soliciting information from business, industry, labor, higher education and community members, regarding their expectations for adequate student preparation. One purpose of this assessment is to assist the board in developing a set of both short and long-range goals. The second purpose of this assessment is to determine the areas of student performance, knowledge, and attitudes, which are judged to be most crucial in meeting school or district goals.
The East Sac County School District has requested a Needs Assessment Survey conducted by the Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB). The survey is designed to help us assess our strengths and areas of needed improvement, with a focus on improved student achievement. We would like your opinions and judgments in response to the brief survey linked below.
The survey takes an average of 9 minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous.
Just click the link below, or paste it in your browser and follow the instructions. Thank you for your participation and helping to make improvements for our students.
