Students in grades K-6 have been working hard this year to reach 215,000 reading steps. Our final step count was 239,000 steps! This is equivalent to 3.5 million minutes!! Yesterday, the students were rewarded with an afternoon at the pool!
Thank you to the City of Sac City for opening up the pool for our students, the lifeguards for ensuring safety, and to the PTO for covering expenses. Everyone (including the school staff) had a fun, safe afternoon!!!

Hey, have you heard?!
There is a new golf tournament and this year is the inaugural year! If you have not heard and want to get involved, do not worry there are still a few spots left for teams to golf and still opportunities for sponsors!
Swing Fore The Kids was created FOR THE KIDS!! This tournament is designed as a fun way for East Sac County supporters to come together and fundraise in a big way that will help ALL activities and athletics year round for grades 7-12.
There may be a few individual fundraisers throughout the year, but our hope is to save the kids their efforts on fundraisers that provide little return on their participation and investment. Swing Fore The Kids is a golf tournament that will provide 100% of all the proceeds directly to the activities and athletics.
The next few posts are a start to thank our sponsors for making this event possible! They will be posted daily at 2:00 PM!
If you want to learn more about sponsorship or reserving your golf team please comment/message and we will be in touch!

On Wednesday, May 14th, the 2nd graders got to do their "Jump Up" Day in the 3rd grade classrooms. Mrs. Peters, Mrs. Brotherton, and the current 3rd graders talked to the 2nd graders about what to expect next year. The 2nd graders are excited to make the "jump" around the corner to the next hallway!

The East Sac County 4th grade visited the Sac City Museum on Friday to extend their learning about westward expansion. They also dropped off their Class of 2033 time capsule, which will be returned to them when they are seniors.

On Friday May 23 the East Sac First Grade had the opportunity to learn about the history of trains and transportation by visiting the Boone Scenic Valley Railroad. They took a 2 hour train ride on a 1950's passenger car through the Des Moines River Valley. Their tickets were purchased by the East Sac PTO. Thank you to the East Sac PTO for providing this opportunity for our First Graders!!!

The Lions Club of Wall Lake greeted students for High Five Friday this morning at the elementary. Kids were so excited to jump for a high five and see smiling faces when they entered the doors! Thank you for spending your morning with us!

Miranda Gerdes finishes her season #20 in the STATE with a Discus throw of 94.00!!!

ESC 2nd Grade visited Hagge Park to learn about animals and their habitats. Dakota organized several stations for the kids to experience reptiles, birds, and insects.

On April 29th the East Sac First graders had the opportunity to investigate and explore at Hagge Park with Dakota Popp. They learned about animals, plants, and explored the outdoors on a nature hike. It is great that we have this opportunity in our community for our kiddos to learn outside the classroom.

Congrats to Sam Julin for receiving Academic All-State recognition for maintaining a 3.7-4.00 GPA through out his high school career.
