Another upgrade that took place this summer was updating classroom door hardware and locks in both buildings. All classroom doors in East Sac County now feature easy to operate classroom locks that are intruder and damage resistant. In the event of an emergency, classroom doors can be easily locked and provide quick safety. In the Lake View building several classroom doors were replaced with doors that provide modern safety features common in new school construction. These improvements were made possible by a federal safety grant and capital project money from the districts PPEL and SAVE funds.

East Sac County 2nd graders had a visit from Dakota, the Hagge Park Naturalist. She brought two monarch caterpillars for each classroom. Over the next few days and weeks, our students will watch and learn about the metamorphosis process from caterpillars to butterflies, and eventually get to release them outside. This will be quite exciting for our students!!!

The East Sac County Preschool classes would like to give a big thank you to our schools food service ladies! We are excited to offer breakfast to our youngest students in our classroom each morning. This has really helped set our children up for a successful start to their day. We could not have made such a great change without the support, flexibility, and “can do” attitude from our cooks and our custodial staff as well! Teamwork helps make things happen for the best interest of our students at ESC! All preschool students colored breakfast pictures and gave them to the ladies as a way to say thanks for the yummy breakfasts and snacks every day. THANK YOU!
