Congratulations to Parker Engel and Isaiah Aragon on qualifying for the Iowa State Track Meet in the 3200 m race. The men will run at 10:10 AM on Thursday, May 16th at Drake Stadium. Congratulations and GOOD LUCK!!!

In honor of Mother's Day on Sunday, our special guests for High Five Friday were our East Sac County Pk-6 Moms!!! Lots of kids were excited to see their Moms at school. We want to wish all Mothers a Happy Mother's Day and thank those who were able to be with us today!!!

This is a reminder of our Youth Marketplace that will take place next week on May 14th at 5:30 PM.

As a part of our study of the farm, our East Sac County Preschoolers had a visit from some 2 and 4 legged friends this week. The students were able to get some up close interactions with pigs, cows/calves, sheep, goats, a pony, a turkey, chickens, kittens and puppies! None of this would have been possible without the support from parents, grandparents and community members who graciously volunteered to take time out of their busy day to bring in their animals. We appreciate your support of our preschool program!!

Tonight the ESC music department put on the Choir and Ukelele Spring Concert! Our 7th-12th graders sang and played in front of a packed gym. And they gave a great performance from all grades and groups!!

Earlier this week, the East Sac County 2nd grade had Ag Safety Day that was put on by the Sac County ISU Extension Office. Students learned about water safety, food safety, pet safety, chemical safety, and grain bin safety. Students finished the trip with the Sac County Sheriff's department demonstrating obedience commands and bite exercises with the K-9 officers. We would like to thank all the businesses that help support and plan this opportunity for our 2nd graders each year!!!

If you needed another reason why East Sac County is a great school, this is it! Some of our East Sac County Preschoolers teamed up with our Basic Construction High School students to build step stools together! Positive interactions like this across K-12 are awesome and important. We are lucky that things like this happen here. Very cool for everyone involved!!!

Today is Principal Appreciation Day! East Sac County would like to show our appreciation and thank Mrs. Halbur and Mr. Tedesco for all of their hard work and dedication to helping East Sac County students, families, staff, and the district. East Sac Jr./Sr. High School celebrated Decision Day today! Decision Day is a day of celebration for seniors in support of their plans after high school. All senior plans are honored on this day including public & private colleges, community colleges, specific programs, military, and workforce. Throughout the day ESC High School Counselor, Mrs. Dooley, announced each senior's post-secondary plans. All students watched a video of seniors explaining how they worked through their decision process, and seniors gave underclassmen valuable advice to use as they think about their own future plans. During advisor, seniors spent time together to celebrate with photos and treats! We'd like to give a big thank you to Iowa Central for providing treats for our seniors!
