Today was NEW TEACHER day at East Sac County!!! Welcome to the ESC Team!! This group of smiling educators are new or returning to the ESC district! Some are first year teachers while others have years of teaching experience. Thank you for choosing ESC and doing what it takes to help our students and community!!! With the first day of school approaching, the Jr/Sr high school has two orientation dates for our transitional grades! Messages have gone out to parents and guardians of our 7th and 9th grade students. 7th grade at 7:00pm on Monday the 19th and 9th grade having their meeting during the day at 1:30. Both starting in the commons of our Lake View building. East Sac County Community Schools is excited to introduce Angela Siefken as one of East Sac County's HS Math Teachers!!! Mrs. Siefken is a native of Storm Lake and has four grown children and four wonderful grandchildren. Each summer, she and her husband travel and spend quality time with family, near and far. Angela fondly remembers camping around the beautiful Black Hawk Lake, and this summer they introduced their granddaughters to putt-putt golf in Lake View. Mrs. Siefken is thrilled to start her new adventure as a high school math teacher at East Sac County! She has been teaching all levels of math for many years. Her first year teaching at Saint Mary's in Storm Lake was back in 1996, and for the last seven years, she has taught at Newell-Fonda. The thing she is most excited about as she begins her journey here at East Sac County is sharing her love for math with the students and being a part of the school's academic growth. East Sac County Community Schools is excited to introduce Alex Kolbe as a new Kindergarten teacher to East Sac County!!! This will be Mrs. Kolbe's first year at East Sac County but her fourth year teaching. She is originally from Manson, graduated from South Dakota State University, and taught Kindergarten for three years in Logan, Iowa. Her favorite part about teaching is that she gets to teach students to learn to love so they can love to learn. Alex is looking forward to being a Raider and getting this school year started! Evan Gutzmer is a recent graduate from Northwestern College in Orange City, IA, where he earned a major in vocal music education. He and his wife Heidi come from Missouri Valley, IA, and are excited to work with the students within the district, both within the vocal department and with the spring drama program! Tonight was Senior Night for our ESC Raider Baseball Team. Thank you to our Seniors and Senior Parents for all of the work and support over the years! Finishing the night with 6-5 win over Glidden-Ralston was awesome! GO RAIDERS!!!

Every year our National Honor Society hosts a series of blood drives to help combat the large demand for blood. Our first blood drive will be held this July.
