Congratulations to East Sac County Students of the month for the month of April! Tonight the ESC music department put on the Choir and Ukelele Spring Concert! Our 7th-12th graders sang and played in front of a packed gym. And they gave a great performance from all grades and groups!!

These gentlemen from the Iowa DOT took time out of their schedules to greet our East Sac County students this morning for High Five Friday! Thank you for joining us today! Earlier this week, the East Sac County 2nd grade had Ag Safety Day that was put on by the Sac County ISU Extension Office. Students learned about water safety, food safety, pet safety, chemical safety, and grain bin safety. Students finished the trip with the Sac County Sheriff's department demonstrating obedience commands and bite exercises with the K-9 officers. We would like to thank all the businesses that help support and plan this opportunity for our 2nd graders each year!!!

If you needed another reason why East Sac County is a great school, this is it! Some of our East Sac County Preschoolers teamed up with our Basic Construction High School students to build step stools together! Positive interactions like this across K-12 are awesome and important. We are lucky that things like this happen here. Very cool for everyone involved!!!

Today is Principal Appreciation Day! East Sac County would like to show our appreciation and thank Mrs. Halbur and Mr. Tedesco for all of their hard work and dedication to helping East Sac County students, families, staff, and the district. East Sac Jr./Sr. High School celebrated Decision Day today! Decision Day is a day of celebration for seniors in support of their plans after high school. All senior plans are honored on this day including public & private colleges, community colleges, specific programs, military, and workforce. Throughout the day ESC High School Counselor, Mrs. Dooley, announced each senior's post-secondary plans. All students watched a video of seniors explaining how they worked through their decision process, and seniors gave underclassmen valuable advice to use as they think about their own future plans. During advisor, seniors spent time together to celebrate with photos and treats! We'd like to give a big thank you to Iowa Central for providing treats for our seniors!

Congratulations to the East Sac County High School Girls Golf Team as they became Twin Lakes Conference CHAMPS today at the conference golf meet. Way to represent East Sac County! GO RAIDERS!!!

Today we have two different local business join us for High Five Friday! Employees from Family 1st Dental of Sac City and United Bank of Iowa - Sac City greeted our East Sac County students with High Fives and Smiles to start their Friday! Thanks for joining us!!!

Earlier this week, Neil Peterson, CAD instructor at ICCC stopped and visited with Mr. McCollough’s Industrial Technology students. Mr. Peterson shared the career opportunities related to CAD and the ICCC Engineering Tech program. We truly appreciate when we can share different career opportunities with our students!!!

At East Sac County, we have some incredible students doing incredible things. One student in particular, Luke Wernimont, a senior at East Sac County, stepped up in a big way this year. In the fall when Student of the Month started, Luke reached out to Mrs. Dooley and Mrs. Poen to see if he could help make this recognition even more special. Luke volunteered to make an individualized wooden plaque for every 7th-12th grade student who received this award. Every month, Mrs. Dooley and Mrs. Poen coordinate with Luke who needs a plaque and when they need to be done by; this plaque makes the award even more special! Thank you Luke for going above and beyond!!!

Happy Administrative Professionals Day! East Sac County would like to recognize our building administrative professionals that truly keep things in order and CARE for ALL our staff and ALL students at ALL times. Deanna Kroeger has worked for the district for the past 28 years and is currently in her 8th year as the Elementary Administrative Professional. Angela Meredith has worked for district for 22 years and is currently in her 1st year as the Central Office Administrative Professional. Lisa Phillips is in her 6th year as shared Administrative Professional. Brianna Pierce is currently in her 1st year as the High School Administrative Professional. THANK YOU for all that you do!!!

Our East Sac County 3rd graders enjoyed a reading lab outside! They earned this reward for working hard on their ISASP tests. Nice work kids, way to give your best effort!!!

Today is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day!!! Today and everyday we need to be thankful for the people who transport our students safely and are usually the first and last school employees our students see everyday!!!
